Chocolate lovers unite!

Everyone loves chocolate.

It's usually available in small, portable packages. (very handy!)
And it is smooth, buttery and sweet.

It may sound decadent, but you only live once, right? Close your eyes and imagine... the first bite.
Your teeth break through the light crispness of the chocolate, bite through the rest of the piece and the chocolate fills your mouth with texture and flavor.

Sounds wonderful, doesn't it?
It makes you want to run right out to the store and get some chocolate!!

But what about the waist line?
What about your health??

I can't say much about the typical commercial chocolate bars other than they are really sweet (at least to me) and seem to contain a lot of fat.

However, my wife went from 236 lbs to 196 lbs between Nov. 2009 and May 2010.
Eating chocolate!
It was a special brand of cold-pressed chocolate, and as I understand it, the only cold-pressed chocolate in the world.

The health aspects of chocolate depend on the kind of chocolate.

A high ORAC (Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity) score is key to evaluating the health aspects of the chocolate you're eating.
According to the O2 diet, a person should reach a target of 30,000 ORAC units per day as a minimum.

In fact, Keri Glassman mentions the high ORAC value of Xocai dark chocolate on pages 28 and 27 of her new book, "The O2 Diet."

Dark chocolate scores high on the ORAC scale as do blueberries and acai berries.
Cold-pressed chocolate scores even higher than hot-pressed in this regard since the processing does not cook the chocolate.
That would lead to the idea that dieting would be easier with chocolate.
hmmm....The mind boggles.
